Terms and Conditions

When your child attends Marham School of Performing Arts following their free taster session you agree to the following:

You will notify the school of any changes to your contact details. You agree to pay the invoiced fees (invoices are prepared on a monthly basis) in full, before the first lesson of the month (bank details are provided on the invoice) irrespective of your child’s absence or attendance on that Sunday.  Fees are payable for each Sunday that the classes operate whether or not your child attends.  MSPA reserve the right to add £1.00 per week or part of, for late payment of invoices.   You are not charged for any class on a week that the school does not operate.

You will equip your child with our regulation uniform within one month of joining (uniform can be ordered through the school) and you commit to your child attending classes weekly. Irregular attendance interrupts your child’s progress and in group drama and musical theatre classes, absences severely hinders the progress of the other students.​ Talking and distracting others is not permitted in class. You agree to give a months’ notice in writing if your child no longer wishes to attend the school and accept that fees are due payable irrespective of whether your child attends the classes during the notice period.

You agree to the teacher’s use of tactile demonstration and correction in a class situation.

Whilst attending Marham School of Performing Arts (with the exception of our Theatre Active Course) your child may not participate in lessons at any other dance/stage/drama school or club. Similarly, your child may not attend Marham School of Performing Arts whilst enrolled in any other dance/stage/drama school or club for syllabus based lessons, or participate in or attend auditions for external performances, amateur or professional, without Miss Amber’s permission which will not be unreasonably withheld. The choreography your child is taught remains at all times the intellectual property of Miss Amber and Marham School of Performing Arts and as such may not be performed in any talent contest, display, day-school lesson etc, without Miss Amber’s prior agreement.

You and your child understand that intentional damage to school property and/or equipment may result in dismissal from the class without reimbursement of fees paid. Financial reimbursement for the damaged equipment may also be sought.

By registering with our school you also agree to:

The application of a plaster when necessary – waterproof or fabric. A member of staff contacting the Emergency Services in relation to an injury to your child/any other emergency if necessary – you will also be telephoned at the same time by a second member of staff. You give permission for photographic & video footage to be taken of your child and used for advertising purposes including publicity including our website, shows and show programmes. You give permission for your details to be shared with third parties including Examination Boards.

Class Manager Portal :  we operate the Class Manager Software for scheduling and invoicing to which all parents are required to join in order to provide us with your contact address and telephone numbers.  The portal can be found by following this link:

Child Safety and Confidentiality

No parents/guardians etc are permitted into the studios to watch classes with the exception of parent/guardian’s attendance on ‘Open Day’. No unauthorised recording of any classes is permitted by parents however, recording of ‘open day’ classes is permitted under the strict understanding that these recordings are not placed on any social media by you, any member of your family and extended family, friends etc., and recordings must be limited to your child only. This is to protect the children but also the choreography which remains as the intellectual property of the school or examination board at all times.

Teachers may be required to video classes to help with examination practice or for their own qualifications, and should you have any objection to this please inform us in writing.

We do have a Facebook page where the schools achievements and events are celebrated and publicised. Photos maybe posted here however children’s names will not be included.

Children are supervised at all times and are not permitted to leave the school without a responsible adult (18+ years), unless we have your written or (in emergency situations) verbal permission. If your child is going to be collected by an adult who is not a parent/guardian, then again, we request your written or verbal permission for us to release them. We will not release any student to siblings under 18 years of age.

Safeguarding Policy

The purpose of this policy is:-

  • To protect children and young people who receive Marham School of Performing Arts services.  This includes the children of adults who use our services.

  • To provide parents staff and volunteers with the overarching principles that guide our approach to child protection.

This policy applies to anyone working on behalf of Marham School of Performing Arts.

This policy has been drawn up on the basis of legislation, policy and guidance that seeks to protect children in England.  A summary of the key legislation is available from nspcc.org.uk/learning.

 

We believe that

  • Children and young people should never experience abuse of any kind.

  • We have a responsibility to promote the welfare of all children and young people, to keep them safe and to practice in a way that protects them.

We recognise that

  • The welfare of the child is paramount.

  • All children, regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation have a right to equal protection from all types of harm or abuse.

  • Some children are additionally vulnerable because of the impact of previous experiences, their level of dependency, communication needs or other issues.

  • Working in partnership with children, young people, their parents, carers and other agencies is essential in promoting young people’s welfare.

We will seek to keep children and young people safe by (but not limited to)

  • Valuing, listening to and respecting them.

  • Adopting best practice for child protection and safeguarding.

  • Managing any allegations against staff and volunteers appropriately.

  • Creating and maintaining an anti-bullying environment and ensuring that we deal effectively with any bullying that may arise.
